Where to Stay

Where to Stay in Brighton

Artist Residence

I only spent one night in Brighton before deciding to move here, and it was at Artist Residence. It’s a creative boutique hotel in a beautiful regency building with artist murals and sea views of Brighton’s iconic West Pier. It’s in a perfect location just outside the city centre, right by the seafront and close enough to walk into town. I think it would be impossible to stay here and not fall in love!

Eco Friendly Travel

Brighton’s a great city to explore on foot but if you’re short on time take the bus from Clarence Square to North Street (stop B) to check out The Lanes or use Brighton Bike Share for a scenic cycle into town along the seafront.

Brighton’s North Laine

Brighton’s North Laine is packed with amazing vintage shops and independents.

Snoopers

Snoopers Paradise is one of the most well-known and well-loved vintage hot spots, located on the famous Kensington Gardens (a famous shopping street full of great independents). Snoopers is a treasure trove filled with vintage fashion, homeware, books, and curios. Even if you’ve been 100 times before there’s always something new to see.

TIPS! North Laine Bazaar and Diplock’s Yard are just around the corner and always full of vintage treasures too!

Where to Eat

Where to Eat in Brighton

Brighton is full of amazing vegan food. There are tonnes of dedicated vegan restaurants and vegan options are available pretty much everywhere else too.

The Garden Café

The Garden Café is a perfect spot for a quick bite when you’re in North Laine. It has a great brunch menu with vegetarian and vegan options, friendly service, and it’s covered in plants - what’s not to love!

My Favourite Vegan Spots

  • Vurger
  • Moshimo
  • Purezza Casa Azul
  • Fatto a Mano
  • The Bok Shop
  • What The Pitta
  • Food For Friends

Where to Get Coffee

Where to Get Coffee in Brighton

If there’s one thing Brighton does best, it’s café’s. As the coffee capital of the UK, you’re only ever a few steps from a great coffee shop.

The Flour Pot Bakery

One of my favourites is The Flour Pot Bakery, their Sydney Street location is the perfect spot for a quick pit stop while exploring the North Laine.

TIPS! Get the vegan hazelnut brownie!

For coffee and vegan treats: Small Batch and Down to Earth Coffee & Real Patisserie.

City Strolling

City Strolling in Brighton

My main advice for visiting Brighton is not to overbook yourself. Settle into the laid-back Brighton lifestyle, your time is best spent walking around the city and exploring.

There are so many amazing shops
and cafes you can lose hours wandering around The Lanes alone. One of my favourite ways to spend a day in Brighton is by browsing the vintage shops in North Laine, eating a Bagelman in the Pavilion Gardens, then walking along the Pier and playing in the arcade before grabbing dinner and watching the sunset at the beach.

TIPS! Pizza on the beach is a must in the summer but make sure you keep it covered or the seagulls will steal it!

Local Tips

Local Tips

A few times a month the sunset coincides with low tide, Brighton’s secret sandy beach is revealed and the sunset reflections on the wet sand are glorious. Check a tide chart to see if there’s a low tide sunset on your visit!

In the winter thousands of starlings murmurate around the pier at sunset, it’s well worth wrapping up and waiting out in the cold for.
